Thane’s Exchange want to get people as excited about mountain climbing and hiking as they are. The team at the company are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.
The retail sector is one of the most competitive industries that there is. No matter what part of retail you operate in – clothing, food, etc. – there will be a range of different companies vying for market share. That makes it even more important for companies that operate in this sector to get their branding right. Thane’s Exchange knew that they had a lot of competition. Not only would they have to compete with established retailers such as Mountain Warehouse, but also other smaller, independent mountain climbing/hiking gear outlets.
This meant that it was vital that they built a strong brand identity. A brand identity can give your business a personality, making it easier to connect with the consumer. However, this isn’t something that you can buy, or gain overnight. It takes a lot of hard work and resources to develop an identity. One of the most effective ways to start building identity is through logo design. A logo is going to be the first thing that potential customers see about your business. It needs to be eye-catching enough that it will capture their attentions. Once it has captured their attentions, it needs to be informative and attractive enough so that they want to learn more.
After agreeing to create a logo for Thane’s Exchange, we began our design process. The stage that we will always complete first is research. We needed to learn as much about the client as we possibly could. This would include aspects of their business such as aims & objectives, products/services and target market. It is also useful to look at their competitive environment. This would give us a better idea of what rivals were doing in terms of branding and logos.
Once we were happy the research stage had been completed, we moved on to brainstorming. This is our creative stage. We used all the information we had gathered in research, as well as any guidelines the client had given us, to think of the most suitable design concepts for their business.
Depending on what package you have purchased, we will come up with a different number of design concepts. Our cheapest package (the Pro) will get you three, the Advanced Package will get you five and our most premium package – the Enterprise – will get you eight. After we have created the appropriate number of designs, we will sketch them out and package them up.
Thane’s Exchange were delighted with the results. They selected the design concept they felt represented their business the best and still use it to this day. We have created a number of retail logo designs and would love for the opportunity to do more. If you have any questions, or would like to go ahead with a logo design, contact us today.
