The company currently has one open restaurant, located in London, United Kingdom. Sydney Rocks is branded as an Oyster and Burger Bar. This is the type of cuisine that is known as “surf n turf”. The restaurant wants to appeal to the fine dining target market. Offering high quality four course meals to their customers. Also on offer at their establishment is a range of beers, wines, champagnes and cocktails.

This can be down to a number of reasons. The most common ones tend to be that they can’t compete with their competition or they don’t brand themselves right. That is why it is so important for restaurant businesses to develop a strong brand identity. Once we had agreed to work with Sydney Rocks, we moved on with our design process. The first stage we had to complete was research. In this stage we would have to learn as much about Sydney Rocks as a business as possible. Important parts of their business we wanted to learn were what kind of cuisine they sold, what the aims/objectives of the company were and who their target demographic/market was. It was also helpful to look at what their competitors were doing in terms of logo design. This way, we could look at what had worked for them and what hadn’t.
After research was complete, we moved on to brainstorming. In this stage we could start to get creative and think of different ideas for the design. We had to keep in mind all the information that we had learned in the research stage, combined with any guidelines/information that the client had given us previously. We then selected the most suitable logo for the client, ensuring it was to our high quality.
Finally, we had to sketch out our chosen design. We do this so that any minor changes can be made to improve the overall design. The design was then packaged up and sent off to Sydney Rocks.
