They specialise in serving healthy and nutritious food. The company is based in London and it predominantly serves professionals in the area for lunch. Salad Kitchen was founded in 2014 by two people – Sam & Ross. With a passion for healthy eating, they realised that there was a lack of choice in the area when it came to salad bars. There is both the option to sit in and take out, with a variety of salad choices and coffees available.

In recent years, there has been more of a public focus on healthy eating. We have got to a stage in our society where obesity has become a major problem. This has seen an influx of companies trying to take advantage of the new trend of healthy eating. Because of this, there was a need for Salad Kitchen to stand out from their competition. A great way to get ahead of competitors is to develop a strong brand identity.

One of the best ways to build brand identity is through logo design. A logo is often the first thing about a business that potential customers will see. It needs to be attractive and informative enough to entice that person to use or learn more about your company. Logos should be instantly recognisable and connected to your brand, helping returning customers come back and use your company rather than trying somewhere new.

Salad Kitchen realised that in order to be successful, they needed to get ahead of their competitors. After doing some online research they discovered Repeat Logo, learning how a fresh logo would help improve their business. They then got in contact and we started to discuss how to move forward.


After we had agreed to design a logo for Salad Kitchen, we first had to do some research. We needed to learn about Salad Kitchen as a business. What service/products they offer, what their aims and objectives are, as well as their target demographic was all important information for our design. It is also helpful to research what competitors have done in terms of logo design. We can look at aspects of their design that have worked and incorporate them in to our logo. All this information gives a good starting foundation to design a logo from.

Once research was done, it was time to move on to brainstorming. This is the stage when we can get creative and start to think of ideas for the logo design. We had to keep in mind any guidelines that Salad Kitchen had gave us, as well as using the information learned from the research stage to draw up the most suitable logo for their business.

The third stage of our process is sketching out the design. This is done so that we can get a feel for the logo, as well as being able to make any minor changes that are needed to improve the final product. We then packaged up our final design and sent it to the Salad Kitchen team.
