Repeat Logo have designed numerous logos for a whole range of different companies. One our happy customers was Lucky Man Grooming. They are a business in the grooming products industry. Offering a diverse product catalogue ranging from gels, mousses, conditioners amongst many others. However, they specialise in products specific to men’s beards. Products such as speciality shampoos and conditioners for beards have been a big hit with their customers over the past few years. All their staff are highly experienced and knowledgeable – meaning that if you don’t know what you need, they more than likely will.
Lucky Man Grooming came to us because they had a problem. They felt that the market that they were now operating in had started to become oversaturated. Competition for business had become more aggressive than ever with the rise in demand for men’s grooming products. Lucky Man lacked a strong brand identity. While the quality of their products couldn’t have been questioned, they found that a lot of potential customers went elsewhere. This was because the company had no identity, nobody knew what they were about and their reputation wasn’t growing. The management team over at the company decided it was time for a revamp.
After a bit of research they found Repeat Logo. We know how competitive industries can become. When they come to us they explained their situation. What was required was a logo that would capture the attention of potential customers and be instantly recognisable to those who had seen it before. Usually logos in the grooming products industry can be generic so that they are identifiable to a larger audience. Luckily for us, Lucky Man had a niche. Because they were men only and specialised in beard products, it meant that we had a strong base to build the logo on.
First of all we started off by looking at other companies logos that were related to men’s grooming products. This was the first time we had designed a logo in this industry and felt it was important to gather inspiration, history and research of what people had been doing previously. We found that logos were very bland and didn’t use many symbols. This is when we decided that we needed to incorporate a suitable symbol in to the logo. Because we felt that it would help Lucky Man stand out. We had a few ideas of what to use. Ultimately, we decided on the beard with pipe used as the ‘y’ in lucky. This was a clever way to incorporate it that smoothly fitted in with the text.
The beard/pipe symbol was chosen because it would make it clear to audiences that the company focused on beards. The pipe was an extra touch that added a bit of fun and character in to the logo. Secondly, we had to decide on a font. We went with the final design because it is has a masculine look to it, while also being simplistic, attractive and easily legible. Finally we went with a blue colour to finish off the logo. Blue has forever been associated with boys. As well as this it fitted in nicely with the aesthetic of the logo and finished it off nicely.
This is the only grooming product logo that Repeat Logo has designed. We discovered a lot about designing logos for these types of companies throughout the process. For more information, head over to our grooming products logo page.
